I have a sleeping problem for the last twenty years. My problem is that I have a hard time to go back to sleep whenever I wake up from my sleep. It could be 1:00 AM. It could be 2:30AM or 4:00AM. Once I wake up, for whatever reason: bathroom need, cold, hot, noise…whatever, I would stay awake until the normal time I get up which is about 6:30AM. The strangest thing is that I could wake up at the exaction same time several nights in a roll! For example, I would wake up 2:32 on Monday, 2:32 on Tuesday and 2:32 on Wednesday. It is so ridiculous. It is like the movie Ground Hog Day! I would stay awake and cannot go back to sleep for hours till I eventually has to get up and work. I tried everything. Nothing worked.
My sister, who was a nurse, after hearing about my sleep problem, suggested that I could be drinking too much Coke during the day. I was drinking at least a couple of cans of Coke back then. I stopped drinking Coke. That wasn’t it and my sleep problems remain the same. I stopped drinking coffee in the morning. No, that wasn’t it either. I eventually avoided anything that contains caffeine all together. I don’t even drink strong tea after 5PM. That was not it either.
I went to see my family doctor. The doctor gave me some sleeping pills. The pills kept me from waking up but also kept me like a walking zombie the next day. I didn’t feel refreshed the next day even though I didn’t wake up the entire time. I went to another doctor and got similar result. I want to resolve this problem without taking medication.
During me training as a hypnotherapist in HMI, a few senior fellow students suggested different solution for my sleep problem. They started to give me “sleep suggestions” and during the hypnosis practice sessions and suggested diet changes. I was surprised that there were some changes in my sleeping conditions. While not completely satisfied, but I was glade there were improvements.
I decided that if fellow hypnotherapy students can improve my sleeping conditions, an experience hypnotherapist must be much more effective. I told Ms. Michele Guzy about my sleep problem. Ms. Michele Guzy is a Certified Hypnotherapist with 17 years experience and an instructor at HMI. I was right; hypnotherapy with her was very effective for my sleep problem. I consider my sleeping problem at least 90% corrected after three sessions of hypnotherapy with Ms. Michele Guzy.
Ms. Guzy gave me the hypnotic suggestions that I needed for my sleeping problem in the first hypnotherapy session. She made some adjustment in the hypnotic suggestion in the second session a few days later. The adjustment was base on my responses to the initial hypnotic suggestion in the first session. I then have a reinforcement hypnotic suggestion in my third session with her. I am now able to go back to sleep after I wake up for any reason quickly. I can go back to sleep in minutes and wake up much more refreshed. It is an amazing experience. Twenty
